[Summary & Suggestion] My Short Reflection in the Phillipines and UST

PURPOSES OF PRACTICUM
The purpose of this programme is to give the students (me) an opportunity to be a student teacher in other country so that I could be a great teacher in the future. I could improve my teaching skills, how to create a meaningful classroom, and how to handle and manage the class. Another purpose of this programme is to have an experience to teach in another country, and of course to prepare ourselves to become a teacher who's not just smart but also intellectual in attitudes.

PROCEDURE OF PRACTICUM
The procedures that I had done are several tests and orientation. Start from an interview, public speaking, and teaching testing in the campus. After that, I get an orientation in the receiving school, then observing the classroom, doing assistantship, then doing independent teaching. Then, for the last week, doing grand-demo teaching and farewell programme with the school and university.

OUTCOMES OF PRACTICUM
I get so many new things I have learned when doing the practicum. I get to experience how to teach in other country, who has different cultures, principles, and language, from those, I learned how to manage the class, how to make the students understand with my explanation when I delivered my material, and how to be a good teacher.

THE CHALLENGES OF PRACTICUM
What are the most challenging challenges when doing the practicum is the culture, the language, and the difference of the education system. Even though Phillipines uses English as their second language and their education system is one the best education in Asia, but it still bothers me.

OVERALL IMPRESSION
I'm really happy and proud to be a student teacher of SEA Teacher Batch 6. I get to experience new things, get to improve my teaching skill, get to know a lot of new beautiful people, cultures, and food I have never tasted, and of course get to know so many knowledge and experiences.

SUGGESTION FOR FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS
I hope my receiving university (re:UST) where I had my practicum would improve their accommodations and transportation for future exchangees. I had so much fun in Phillipines, with the people, cultures, my students, and UST. I hope I could meet them in the future.

Salamat, po!
