SCHOOL PROFILE
The University of Santo Tomas Junior High School (UST JHS) is the school where I had my practicum. The UST Junior High School which known as UST JHS is an integral part of the University of Santo Tomas located in Espana Boulevard., Sampaloc, Manila, Phillipines 1008. Here, where I get a welcoming party as soon to be a teacher. Where I get introduced with my mentor, my coordinating teacher, and my students.
After welcoming party, we got a chance to have a tour and a Math teacher as a tour guide. We get a chance to see the whole school, and the students as well.






Vision

The UST Junior High School, adhering to the mission and vision of the University of which it is a part, envisions itself in the next five years to live up to its vocation as a Christian, Catholic, evangelizing, Filipino and educational community, with its tradition of excellence involving its academic and non-academic staff, dedicated to the holistic formation of its students in the secondary level in competence, commitment, and compassion.

Mission
The UST Junior High School, proud of its tradition and conscious of its role to share in the mission of the University of Santo Tomas, under the inspiration and patronage of its model St. Thomas Aquinas, affirms and avows its commitment to the cause of education in the secondary level, and to the formation of our students in the Faith for the purpose of preparing them for tertiary education, being molded as true Thomasians and becoming responsible citizens dedicated to the service of God, the country, and the whole world.

Goals
Our mission is defined by the following goals:
- Integral formation of our students;
- Cultivation of Christian values necessary for the formation of a right social conscience;
- Development of professional sound expertise in guiding, counseling, and nurturing our students’ passion for knowledge;
- Appreciation, preservation, enrichment, and propagation of Filipino cultural heritage rooted in a sense of history and tradition;
- Recognition of the role of individuals in the University, local community, country, and the environment.

Objectives
The UST Junior High School aims to:
- mold the students into total human persons by providing them the best educational program possible in an atmosphere conducive to intellectual, spiritual, moral, social, cultural, and physical development;
- provide the students with the necessary education in order that they may become well-disciplined persons whose deportment is in harmony with Christian ideals and teachings;
- help the students develop a sense of Christian leadership and service whose primary concern is the welfare of others;
- cultivate in the students a genuine and fervent nationalist sense and,
- provide the adolescent students an all-around, sound, balanced, and challenging curriculum, not only suited to their talents and abilities, but also determined to bring out the best in them and make them responsible adults in the future.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT SYSTEM
In UST Junior High School has 3 floors building. On the first floor, there are lobby, cafeteria, conference rooms, a robotic room, faculty room, prayer room, and coordinator room. On the second floor, there are grade 9 and 10 sections classroom, library, and computer laboratory. On the third floor, there are grade 7 and 8 sections classroom, Benavides auditorium, and Benavides AVR (audio visual room).







TEACHING SYSTEM
In the Phillipines, junior high school consists of four years which are grade 7 until 10 as well as in UST Junior High School. I had my practicum classroom in 10 section, which is St. David and St. Damian. In UST Junior High School uses brain-based learning system in teaching. 
The school starts at 7.15 a.m until 4.00 p.m. For the English subject, one meeting lasts for 75 minutes. My first class usually starts at 7.15-8.30 and my second class starts at 9.25-10.40.

MATERIALS AND OTHER LEARNING SOURCES
The materials and learning sources used in UST Junior high school eclectic in nature and use all resources available in the library and online, such as books, module, etc.

MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION SYSTEM
The English teacher designs the measurement tool tailored to UST Junior High School. The English teacher usually uses formative assessment and summative assessment. For the formative assessment such as writing prompt, or review about some issues, etc. For the summative assessment, unlike other subjects, English teacher usually orders the students to make an essay or a project related to the lesson of English.

CURRICULUM
Curriculum in the Phillipines uses K to 12. In Phillipines, the level for junior high school a little bit different, which is four level from grade 7 until grade 10. Where in senior high school is two level from grade 11 and grade 12. Following the curriculum in the country, UST Junior High School uses K to 12 curriculum as well. UST Junior High School uses brain-based learning as their main methods of teachers in teaching every subjects.

TEACHING PLAN
Because the method of the school is brain-based learning, so the teaching plan is designed in brain-based learning standard. Here are the teaching plan uses in UST Junior High School, especially in English Subject.
